How does LightWeightMD Work? You can start your weight-loss journey in three easy steps. Complete LightWeightMD’s simple intake form so we can evaluate whether you would be a suitable candidate for our program and initial consultation. Have a telehealth visit with one of our licensed physician or nurse practitioners for them to evaluate you and discuss your weight-loss treatment. Receive your medication in the mail from a pharmacy provider. At LightWeightMD, we're committed to your weight-loss journey and look forward to serving you. *The prescribing of any medication by LightWeightMD’s licensed providers is based on medical necessity and appropriateness, which is determined by the provider’s physical evaluation and medical history review of each patient and in accordance with acceptable medical standards. How much does LightWeightMD cost? It’s only $260 per month to start compounded semaglutide, and $364 per month for tirzepatide. That includes everything you need, including your online appointment and medication. There are no long-term contracts. At the end of each month, you will be reminded to return feedback on your progress through an auto-delivered reminder and you can discuss your current progress and dosage with your provider. You can always speak with a provider if you have any questions.
-
What if I need a higher dose?Unlike other programs, we offer a more effective four month dosing regiment to allow you to achieve maximum medical benefit. We start at the 0.25mg/week dose to ensure individuals are comfortable and symptom-free. We increase the dose after the first month to 0.5mg weekly and here is where we typically see patients beginning to respond to therapy. After the second month, we can maintain that dose or increase to 1mg weekly. We find that this dose is more effective and patients have typically seen little (if any) side effects once in month 3. Many patients wish to maintain this dose, but the dose can be increased to 2.5mg weekly in the fourth month. This would be a robust maintenance dose for most individuals. Some individuals will transition to tirzepatide.
-
How often will I receive a shipment?A shipment will be delivered monthly after your fourth week is completed and you indicate your desire to maintain or increase your dose.

Is this real medication?Yes. All medications are delivered from a licensed pharmacy specializing in sterile compounding. Our pharmacy is certified by the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) and is a member of the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA). The medication you receive is a compounded medication with B12. These are slowly absorbed by the body to reduce appetite and cravings. The compounded medication is not associated with the Novo-Nordis or Eli Lilly company or the brand-name medications Mounjaro®, and Zepbound™, Ozempic®, or Wegovy®.
-
How does this compare to brand name drugs? The FDA-approved brand name drugs, such as Saxenda®, Victoza®, Wegovy®, and Ozempic® are exclusively available from the Novo Nordisk™ company. Mounjaro® and Zepbound™ are exclusively available from Eli Lilly and Company™. LightWeightMD does not claim any affiliation with, or endorsement from, the above mentioned products or entities. We do not offer any of the above mentioned products, anyone seeking said products should discuss options with their licensed healthcare provider or pharmacist. LightWeightMD offers compounded medications that are offered in a State Board of Pharmacy licensed sterile compounding pharmacy. The compounded medications provided are not FDA approved, as they are compounded and prescription-specific for each patient. Compounded prescriptions are offered by a licensed provider’s medical judgement based on their specific medical history, qualifications and Telehealth encounter.
-
How much weight will I lose?Your actual weight-loss will depend on several factors. Over a 2-3 month period, individuals may lose as much as 10% of their initial body weight. Those on tirzepatide tend to lose an additional 5% for that same period of time. It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle including diet and exercise. The goal is gradual weight-loss, lifestyle modification, and targeted maintenance dosing. Disclaimer: LightWeightMD does not guarantee weight loss results. Individual results may vary.
-
